The National Center for Employee Ownership is committed to reducing the ecological footprint of all NCEO-hosted events through carbon emissions reduction, sustainable material choices, meaningful dialogue about environmental impact, vendor accountability, and strategic long-term planning. This is an evolving commitment—we will continue to develop, refine, and expand our practices as we explore what truly sustainable events can achieve.
How can I be a more environmentally conscious attendee?
Travel
Fly directly or choose a lower-emissions flight when possible.
Reusable Drinkware
Bring your reusable water bottle—you will want to stay hydrated during this event! Water stations will be available throughout session rooms.
Airport Habits
Pack your own snacks or abstain from purchasing single-use items at the airport.
Waste
Read packaging and waste bins for recycling information. Be conscious of what you are tossing in waste bins and reuse when appropriate.
Ride with a Friend
When you arrive to Phoenix, consider taking public transit to the hotel or sharing an Uber with a friend!
Build your network and connect with colleagues by inviting them to ride-share. Bonus points if you ride in an electric vehicle!
Your Stay
The Sheraton Phoenix Downtown is Green Key Eco-Rating Program Certified. During the NCEO Forum, consider reusing your towels to prevent unnecessary water and energy usage.
You can also reduce energy consumption by maintaining a consistent temperature on your thermostat.
